Red Tents in South Surrey- Russ Heibert

On Tuesday August 3rd we continued our weekly demonstrations at the office of Russ Heibert in South Surrey. Mr. Heibert failed to endorse a national housing plan by voting again Bill C-304, and our action was intended to educate him on the issue.  Homelessness is often less visible outside the city center, however this does not mean the problem does not exist. By visiting his office we hoped to remind Mr. Heibert that the number of homeless individuals in Canada has reached 300, 000, and is an issue applicable to all.

At 12pm, we set up red tents and banners and handed out fact sheets in front of the office. Though Mr. Heibert was not in, we supplied the office with information on homelessness, and hope that Mr. Heibert acts upon it.
